Therapeutic and emotional photography for women.

Slow photography for knowing and empowering yourself at your own and at nature’s pace.

What do we show in the images?
What do they tell us about our stories?
How can they help us to change?

Without being perfect, we are unique and beautiful in our diversity.

Inside every woman there is a unique essence that makes her beautiful. This beauty is not dependent on age, or the colour of her eyes, nor her dress size. My mission is to be an agent of change, helping you to find and express that attitude, that personality and that energy that is uniquely you.

I'm Oihana Marco....

I am convinced that, for many years, women have internalised conversations around our physical appearance. From an early age, we have been taught that to be accepted and loved, we need to abide by certain standards of beauty. This pressure implies a significant emotional load and, very often, it makes us suffer.

Publicity and the media bombard us with images that hypersexualise us and reduce us to objects, promoting an unachievable ideal of beauty that makes us feel insecure.

This burden falls on all women and it is tremendously difficult to silence this constant murmur in our minds.

If we add to that the fact that our culture educates us to be carers, we often forget to look after our own selves.
The therapeutic, emotional and art photography sessions originate from these experiences and personal feelings, from my training as a psychologist and anthropologist, and from my resolute desire to be a voice of change and support for other women.

Why my photography, therapeutic, emotional and artistic sessions?

Almost a decade ago, I noticed that the practice of taking selfies had become a tool for healing  and transcendence during the most challenging times of my life. Without even being aware of it, I discovered that this activity had immense therapeutic value.

From that moment, I not only included it within my art projects, but I also shared it in my workshops and in the photography sessions that I held so that other women could experience its benefits.

Today, my Therapeutic, Emotional and Art Photography sessions offer a safe space in which to explore your authenticity and express yourself without restrictions. In this intimate photographic experience, you will experience a process of change, transiting from the fear and vulnerability of facing something unknown to being the leading character, being comfortable, brave, relaxed… and beautiful!

Experience self-knowledge, self-affirmation and empowerment through photography!

What do I offer in my therapeutic, emotional and artistic photography sessions?

I offer you a truly unique experience, a combination of fun and self-discovery… We will create an environment of trust, intimacy and mutual improvisation in which I will attempt to capture the purest elements of your essence and create a new perspective of yourself… An image of you that radiates with kindness, beauty and self-esteem… An image that will enable you to discover your inner power… Your inner light… An image that highlights your best qualities…

That allows you to see your own beauty and to discover facets of yourself that perhaps you were unaware of.  A masterpiece that immerses you in the most authentic elements of your being, far from the norms that dictate how you should be, what dress size you should be and how you should look.

Who are my sessions of therapeutic, emotional and artistic photography aimed at?

My therapeutic, emotional and art photo sessions are designed for women of all ages, from 18  to 99 years of age. What do my therapeutic, emotional and artistic photography sessions consist of?

At our initial interview before the session, we will have the opportunity to get to know each other better and establish a relaxed environment and mutual trust.  I will also explore the location that you choose for your session, whether this is indoors or outdoors, in order to identify the setting that will help you to feel  more comfortable and authentic. During the session, we will take the necessary amount of time to chat, feel relaxed and create a pleasant environment.

What if I don’t know how to pose and I’m not photogenic? You don’t need to worry about that at all!

My focus is to capture genuine moments and authentic expressions. I never work with stereotypical poses.

Besides, I will guide you throughout the whole process. While you let yourself go and enjoy the moment, I will capture the beauty of your essence and those unique gestures that characterise you, even if you haven’t yet discovered these yourself.

You can also choose the music you like best for the session, and the location (indoors/outdoors) where you feel most comfortable or where you want the session to take place. This contributes to creating the optimal environment that will help you to connect with yourself.  Our session will be a joint experience where, together, we will create images that reflect the real you.

What do my clients think of my photography services?

In this blog or website, Oihana Marco shares her articles on Islam published through Vocento in Spanish newspapers.

In them, he analyses the terrorist attacks and their identity and political roots, as well as talking extensively about the “veil” and its adoption among young people of second and third generations in our country and in other European countries. His anthropological studies, both theoretical and field studies on this subject (both in the UK and in Spain), endorse his experience in this field. His talks and conferences (Brunel University, City University of London, CSIC, Iemed, Universidad Pablo Olavide, Pluralismo y Convivencia, etc…) attest to this”.
